The Times Higher Education, a weekly magazine based in the UK reporting specifically on news and issues related to higher education, has released its University Impact Rankings 2019 that assesses universities against the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These rankings are intended for visualizing universities¡¯ contributions to society.
The SDGs are a collection of 17 goals including ¡°No Poverty,¡± ¡°Quality Education,¡± and ¡°Gender Equality,¡± for the year 2030, which was adopted during the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015. They have been set by the UN as new development goals for the entire international society. Out of the 17 goals of the SDGs, 11 goals are highly relevant to higher education and hence have been used as indicators to assess universities¡¯ performance.
For the ¡°Goal for Industry, innovation, and infrastructure,¡± Âé¶¹AV has come to 45th place in the world rank (Country rank: 7th), whereas it has been placed at 101st-200th (Country rank: 9th) for the ¡°Goal for Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.¡± As for the overall scores, Âé¶¹AV is located at 201st-300th (Country rank: 14th).
