Applying for Consultation

Support for Acquiring Materials and Information for Learning, Research, and Investigation Consultation Application.

Please feel free to visit the service counter at each library* or apply using the form below in the following cases:
*Maximum consultation time is 30 minutes per session.

  • You don*t know how to search for or obtain materials
  • You*re unsure how to use databases or reference management tools
  • You want to find specific facts or data
  • You want to know what kind of materials or information are available on a particular topic

Please note that the following types of inquiries are not accepted:

  • Investigations or answers for class assignments
  • Investigations that may be considered as conducting research on behalf of someone
  • Medical, legal, or personal counseling
  • Appraisals or market price investigations of old books or artworks
  • Investigations into personal privacy
  • Investigations into copyright holders for copying services (e.g., year of death, contact information)
  • Compilation of exhaustive bibliographies
  • Investigations without reasonable search methods
  • Investigations requiring excessive cost or time
  • Other inquiries deemed inappropriate for library response

Reference Service Hours

  • Central Library: Weekdays 8:45每16:45
  • West, Kasumi, and Higashi-Senda Libraries: Weekdays 8:45每16:30

Consultation Response

Inquiries submitted via the application form will be answered by email or online. Online consultations will be conducted via MS Teams (available to university members only). The connection URL will be sent by email once the consultation time is confirmed.

  • Eligible Users: Students and faculty/staff of this university
  • Consultation Duration: Up to 30 minutes per session
  • Service Hours: Weekdays 9:00每12:00, 13:00每16:30 (excluding the morning of the third Thursday of each month)

Please note that the content of your inquiry and the response may be edited and published in the (National Diet Library) in a way that does not identify the requester.
