家畜と家禽を、安全性と生产性に优れた食资源として生产するための技术开発に贡献するために、これらの生理机构を追究している。このため、卵やミルクの生产における内分泌?免疫机构に関する研究を展开している。
1）鸟类の生殖器における免疫机能とその内分泌的调节机构の解明。雌雄生殖器の适応および自然免疫机构を明らかにして、生体防御机能を高め、卵の微生物汚染を抑制することを目指している。免疫机能と产卵や受精机能との関连も追究している（吉村）。
2）ウシやヤギの乳腺における抗菌因子の产生机构の解明を目指しており、それを利用して乳房炎を予防?治疗することを目标にしている。また、初乳の有用成分がウシやヤギの健康に及ぼす影响についても検讨している（磯部）。
3）鸟类の生殖器官や消化管といった粘膜组织の免疫调节机构の解明や、有用细菌を用いた健康促进作用に関する研究を行っている。また、卵殻形成机能に関する研究も行っている（新居）。
